I stayed 14 nights at Grids and it was very enjoyable. The staff is polite and speaks English. The hostel is clean with a great common area. The location is next to a market and a short walk to Gion district. The twin room is spacious with a modern bathroom and a full-function Japanese toilet. The beds are comfortable with good linen and pillows. The staff is helpful and they provide breakfast. The hostel is great for families. I highly recommend this place.

Despite the small dorm cabins, the overall experience was wonderful. The breakfast, although a bit pricey, was delicious. I highly recommend this hotel.

However, there were limited areas to hang clothes and keep luggage. There was also one night when the powder room wasn't clean and ran out of paper. But overall, I highly recommend this hotel.
